Does my child have to be a good athlete?

No. Little Athletics is about participation and your child learning different athletics events and improving on their own achievements (i.e. gaining “personal bests”).

Are there opportunities to compete against other Little Athletics Clubs?

Yes, there is one inter-club event called the Northeast Challenge and is hosted by one of the four clubs involved (date is normally set in November).

There are also State-wide events held at SA Athletics Stadium (Mile End) throughout the season.

Please note that for these events, athletes are required to be fully registered with the club.

State events normally incur a small fee to participate.

De we have to stay with our child the entire time?

Absolutely YES! Every child must have a parent or responsible adult on site the whole time regardless of age. Parents can be involved in recording, measuring, timekeeping, chaperoning – as well as supporting their child. If you or a responsible adult are unable to be there, then we recommend not attending a meet in the event of an emergency or last minute event cancellation.

Does my child have to attend every meet and/or training session?

No, there is no requirement to attend every meet or training session.

We understand with holidays and other commitments that it may not be possible to attend every Sunday.

However, it is in the best interests of your child if they can attend as many Sundays as possible to help them improve.

Please note that there is a required attendance quota of meets for your child to be eligible for State Championships.

Can we try Campbelltown Little Athletics before joining?

Yes. Each new athlete is entitled to 2x free Come and Try sessions.

You can register online for a Come & Try Session or complete a paper form at the beginning of the meet.  This information is required to ensure you are covered for insurance purposes.

Does my child have to wear a uniform?

Yes, all registered members should wear the official Campbelltown Little Athletics uniform which consists of a Campbelltown T-shirt with both the patch number and Coles patch attached (patches are provided when members are fully registered) and wear plain black shorts or bike pants.

We also have optional Campbelltown Caps and Bucket Hats.

Full uniform including patches should always be worn at inter-club or state events and there should be no visible logos on black shorts/pants.

Campbelltown T-shirt cost $45 and Caps/Bucket Hats are $15

Can I bring my dog along to sessions?

No, dogs are not allowed on the school grounds.

How can I find my child's results from prior meets?

To view your child’s results from previous meets, please log in to Results HQ at:

https://resultshq.com.au/login

Little Athletics SA has advised that, in time, registrations and results will both be managed through Sport80. In the meantime, please continue to use Sport80 for registrations and Results HQ for results.

Can my child participate in Little Athletics Winter Competitions?

Absolutely! If you have paid for the Summer Season, your membership automatically includes the Winter Competitions held from April to July.

To view upcoming Winter Competitions, please visit:

https://salaa.org.au/winter-competitions/

Please note that Campbelltown Little Athletics does not currently host a weekly winter event.

COFFEE you say?

Most weeks, we are kindly joined by Curbside Espresso, helping keep our parents caffeinated throughout the meet ☕️

What age group is my child in?

Age groups run from 1st January to 31st December each year. Please refer to South Australian Little Athletics Age Group Calculator via their website https://salaa.org.au/age-group-identifier-2/

What is included in your full registration membership fees

Registration fees are made up of 2 components. $125 for each athlete is held by South Australian Little Athletics Association (SALAA) who we are affiliated with and the remaining amount is used at club level for athletes' awards, certificates, medals, trophies, ribbons, and club equipment costs.

All committee and coaches are volunteers who work extremely hard each season to secure sponsorship to ensure athlete fees are kept as low as possible.

The SA Sports Voucher of $200 can be used for each school age athlete (up to 16yo) to help subsidies season fees at time of registration.

Can SA Government Sports Vouchers be used at Campbelltown Little Athletics?

Yes absolutely! From 2025 the SA Government has doubled the SA Sports Voucher to $200 for all SA school aged children up to 16years of age.

They can be applied during the registration process in the payment section for all full season registrations. Simply follow the prompts during the registration progress and complete Medicare (including their reference number) and school details for each athlete you wish to apply a voucher. Voucher amounts will then be deducted from the cost of the athletes' registration.

If you need to check if a voucher has already been used for an athlete in the calendar year, please follow this link, https://www.sportsvouchers.sa.gov.au/child-voucher-search/

Insurance

All registered Little Athletes, coaches and voluntary workers are insured for Personal Accident and Public Liability through insurance arranged by Little Athletics South Australia.

Does an athlete have to complete all 5 events at a meet?

No. We ask athletes to simply, try their best and have a go if they want to and feel comfortable. You do not have to complete all the events. We ask that you participate in a minimum of 3 or 50% of the appropriate age group events, whichever is greater to achieve an attendance for the meet. Campbelltown Little Athletics is about having fun and achieving your best for that day.
